Shaina has always had a passion for working with youth. When string programs were cut at local elementary schools she, as a high school junior, created a successful year-long violin program for 18 second graders. In San Francisco Shaina has worked as a fiddle teacher at Star King Elementary School, San Francisco Friends School, and is currently on faculty at The San Domenico School Music Conservatory - home of the award-winning and nationally acclaimed Orchestra da Camera. An ensemble coach as well as a judicator, she has judged competitions, held master classes, and taught at numerous summer camps.
In 2007 Shaina collaborated with two colleagues to found Fusion Arts Camp, which focused on merging music and movement for the young artist. Shaina is a member of the American String Teachers Association and has attended their National Conference and National Orchestra Festival. With over 10 years teaching experience, she is dedicated to giving her students a broad experience of the violin's capabilities, while harvesting each students uniqueness and nurturing their individual relationship to the world of music.
